My setup is in my basement since I'm in Indiana where it is about 30 degrees and I want to see how well it does indoors. I hate to say it but when you search the net for help about hydroponics you find a LOT of info about growing marijuana BUT I have to say those guys have some good ideas :)

I used Mylar to get a bit more reflected light back, which is what you see on the walls and on the PVC I found some Mylar in 18" wide by 75' rolls that had an adhesive backing on EBay. It is much cheaper than using the aluminum tape and holds pretty good. I cut it into 18'' x 6" pieces and laid it on. I still have PLENTY to do several more systems.

For my lights I'm using two 4 foot 8 bulb New Wave T5 fluorescent lights. The other light is just a normal light that was in my basement.

I had barrels but I wanted an easy way to dump the water so I used a 35 gallon trash can that has a dolly to move it so I can always either push it to the sump pit or just pump it out to the sump. Since it is in my basement I wanted an easier way to disassemble this so I didn't glue any of it and used a little bit of silicone to seal the joints. If I decide to take it down I can just pull everything a part.

On thing I would say you might want to add to your video is don't skimp on the pump. I bought a brand new 185 gph pump by Eco-Plus. It worked for about 3 days and then didn't have enough pressure to pump the water WHICH brings me to another point. Buy 2 pumps!! If one dies and you will lose everything waiting for a new one to come in so I've purchased 2 new ones but they are higher quality.

Anyway just thought I would share what I've done so far. This weekend I plan on starting the seeds. Right now I'm letting the pump flush any little bits of PVC and dirt out of the system. With some luck in a few weeks I'll be able to show you the end results.
